Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy
Our Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy is made from a parcel on a slope with kimmeridgian marnes, facing due South. This is ‘the terroir’ for the great wines of Chablis.
Tasting notes:
The Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy has a pale yellow colour with bright gold/grey highlights. It is defined by its elegant nose of white fruits and its persistent mouth – fresh and mineral – with more than a hint of citrus.
It pairs perfectly with warm oysters, fish, shellfish and poultry in sauce, a cheese like Chaource, Langres or Epoisses, or even the traditional ham of Chablis.
The Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy is a wine that is worth waiting for. It will be at its best after 7-8 years, sometimes more, depending on the vintage.
Serve between 12°C and 14°C whether just enjoying it alone or at the table.
Wine lover’s notes:
BURGUNDY REPORT - 2024 edition
Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy 2022 vintage
A hint of herb and more obvious depth of mineral aroma. Broad, juicy, stony wine. A bit more strict than the Vaillons with much extra salinity. I’d wait 2 years for this wile drinking any of the previous wines. This is still a super wine.
BURGUNDY REPORT - 2023 edition
Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy 2021 vintage
This nose is more direct. A more chalky width – more mineral in style too, slightly floral in the finish. That’s certainly a stronger, more impressive wine than the easy but delicious previous 1ers.
